Our Mission is Simple
Deliver reliable, affordable, and sustainable power where it is needed most.

Why Baraka?
Baraka, on the western shore of Lake Tanganyika, has grown from a small fishing village into a bustling trade hub connecting Bukavu, Uvira, and Kalemie.
Despite its rapid growth to over 250,000 residents, the city still lacks grid electricity, paved roads, and piped water.
With population rising 3.4% annually, decentralized renewable energy is urgently needed.
The High Cost of Power in Baraka
Baraka’s economy revolves around fishing, lake transport, petty trade and small-scale agro-processing. Diesel generators power ice plants, grain mills and welders, but fuel costs average USD 2.20 / liter, forcing many enterprises to limit operating hours.

Lower Energy Costs by Up to 45%
A solar mini-grid delivering electricity at an LCOE below USD 0.68/kWh could reduce business energy costs by up to 45%, while improving reliability and cutting emissions.
Scalable Solar Solutions
Boutross Solar develops integrated clean energy solutions tailored to local economic realities:

Mini-Grids
Reliable community-scale solar infrastructure for towns without grid access.

C&I Rooftop Solar
Lower energy costs for commercial and industrial operators.

Productive Use Systems (PUE)
Solar-powered equipment that drives income generation — from cold storage to agro-processing.
Through blended finance and strategic partnerships, we de-risk investment while maximizing social and economic impact.
Boutross Solar collaborates with leading renewable energy institutions and technical partners, including:
